Each year, the Retailer Excellence Awards recognize outstanding independent pet specialty retailers in a variety of categories that are vital to success in today’s hyper competitive marketplace. Nominations are accepted from manufacturers, distributors and other industry members, as well as the retailers themselves, and are judged by a panel of industry experts that includes members of the Pet Business and Global Pet Expo staff.

 According to Mark Kalaygian, publishing director and editor in chief of Pet Business magazine, the awards program reflects the vital contributions that independent pet specialty retailers play in pets’ and their owners’ quality of life, as well as the important role they play in driving innovation within the pet industry.
